VIBRATING FEEDERS AND CONTROLLERS

Micropower has been supplying controllers for Electromagnetic Vibratory Feeders from 1985. More recently, Micropower, in partnership with others, supply both the controllers and the complete feeder.

Vibratory feeders are normally used for controlling the flow of bulk solids in a variety of manufacturing processes. Feeders may be used for applications as diverse as the feed of corn flakes into packets and Iron ore into crushers. The feed rate must be easily varied over the range required. This is generally achieved with the use of an electronic controller that controls the power to the feeder.

These feeders use vibration to “feed” material to a process or machine. Vibratory feeders use both vibration and gravity to move material. Gravity is used to determine the direction, either down, or down and to a side, and then vibration is used to move the material.

“The Electromagnetic Feeder” uses an electromagnet as a source of linear vibration, allowing for very fine control of the vibration, and variable feeding speeds. There is minimal coasting when the feeder is stopped, which makes it possible to feed discrete amounts accurately.
